Fools, is a work that was inspired by Alaska mining, natural resources. Alaska known for its abundance of natural resources has a fine line between beneficial extraction and harming fragile ecosystems and pristine wilderness. For example, Pebble Mine a proposed copper-gold-molybdenum mining project in the heart of Bristol Bay, the most productive sockeye salmon run in the world. A mine there has the potential to harm the salmon run, the pristine wilderness, and the people who depend on it to live.
The center form is a loose representation of iron pyrite or fools gold, the structure around it was inspired by various mining sites such as Independence Mine in Hatcher Pass.
